Khaiyum corruption PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 06 September 2010 16:31

In 2007 when the regime was trying to frame the former management team of the Fiji National Provident Fund, the coup appointed board contracted Ernst and Young to carry out an audit. When Fiji TV got hold of the report, the regime rushed to suppress it, taking the issue to court to make sure it could not be aired in public. At the time it looked like the report had been suppressed because it showed no irregularities in FNPF management, but Coup Four and Half have disclosed that the report was suppressed because it exposed a Tappoo/FNPF joint business venture. Sayed-Khaiyum could not allow this to be revealed because of his own corrupt dealing with Tappoo who bought his Berry Road property at a grossly obscene price. Once again we see the clean-up regime suppressing a report that exposes the dirty dealings of regime insiders.

Issues of violence and truth PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 06 September 2010 16:29

We find it ironic in the extreme that the illegal attorney general, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, and Fiji’s leading defender of women’s rights, Shamima Ali, should be engaged in a public stoush on the issues of violence and truth. Shamima is saying that the regime’s decree on domestic violence, promulgated in December 2009, has yet to be fully enacted. Aiyaz says Shamima is incorrect. Frankly, we believe Shamima.  Aiyaz might be able to trot out decrees, but does he have the political clout to make them work? A decree to stop drunken husbands and fathers beating up on their wives and children is a good thing. But an even better thing would be a decree that stops the military dictatorship beating up on the economic and social future of us, the people of Fiji.

Chiefs deliver warning on land PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 06 September 2010 16:27

Two of the highest chiefs of the land have delivered to the military regime a warning on the Sayed-Khaiyum Land use Decree. The Roko Tui Dreketi and the Tui Cakau have sent to the illegal PM, a warning that the Fijian people will not stand for the Land Use Decree which gives the dictator power to grant leases of a up to 99 years on whatever terms he thinks fit. It breaches the constitution and the understanding within the Fijian community about how their land should be administered. The letter was hand-delivered by Vilisi Nadaku who has once again shown his readiness to stand up to the dictator. If the dictator seeks to intimidate the chiefs he can be sure that he will not last five minutes. Sayed-Khaiyum no doubt hoped that the issue would start a fight which would lead the army to suppress the landowners, but he will be the victim of this cynical plot and his dictator will join him if a land grab is attempted under this illegal decree.

Liar, liar, pants on fire! PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 06 September 2010 16:25

Once again our grubby little tin-pot dictator has demonstrated that he thinks we are all idiots who will lap up what ever line he chooses to spin. Now he’s telling lies about the circumstances under which John Prasad was suddenly and unceremoniously removed from the role of acting permanent secretary for Finance. It’s clear the dictator is trying to protect Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, whose position in the regime is under serious threat due to the Military Council’s concerns over the illegal attorney-general’s undue influence over the dictator. This scares the dictator because, without Aiyaz’s support in the speechmaking and legal departments, Frank knows all too well that he could be next to fall foul of the increasingly disillusioned and unhappy members of the Military Council.

Don’t rock the FPF boat PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 06 September 2010 16:24

The acting Commissioner who’s stepped into the shoes of Ketepoka Teleni has warned against “”disciplinary measures by Fiji Police Force commanding officers that result in the sacking of personnel”. It sounds like the blogsite reports on dirty dealing inside the FPF have some basis. Is Baleilevuka worried that some of the people who were being rail-roaded by Ketepoka are going to blow the whistle on dirty dealing at the top: Deals involving Lotus Garments and Deluxe shoes have been named and we have to remember that both of these suppliers received improper purchase orders signed by Teleni when was still in the military. The Audit report is still on the Fiji Auditor General’s website.
