We already have the intellectually-challenged dictator and his acolytes such as Leweni and Tikoitoga, but there’s always room for more clowns in the third-rate circus that is Fiji’s military dictatorship. Enter from stage left the RFMF’s Mohammed Aziz. Not shy about mouthing off in public (when it suits him), Aziz has been preaching to new recruits about the need for a “new spirit” in Fiji. But, as veteran freedom blogger Navosavakadua points out, Aziz is hardly qualified to preach about anything given his background of incompetence and likely criminality. For example, if Aziz wants anyone to take him seriously he should explain why he resigned from the board of Fijian Holdings Limited in early 2011. He claimed pressure of work, but that was an obvious lie. More likely, he was caught with his fingers in the till and his hurried and undignified exit was the only option open to him.

Once again, the person who posts for Fiji Today’s Blog under the name “intelsourcefiji” has managed to grab our undivided attention. This time the blogger has listed three current RFMF senior officers and two former officers, the now decommissioned Pita Driti and Tevita Mara, all of whom were involved in the 2006 coup. Of the three serving officers, says “intelsourcefiji”, one is going to jump ship and do a runner to Australia. Folks, the three candidates are listed for you to see. Is “intelsourcefiji” right? Who do you think it will be?

Our hats off to the President of the Fiji Democracy and Freedom Movement (FDFM), Suliasi Daunitutu, for his eloquent and restrained rebuttal of the flagrant beat-up by Graham Davis about Ro Teimumu Kepa’s letter to the dictator. Daunitutu nailed it right on the head when he said, “The deliberate choice of title ‘Paramount Chief deals the race card’ is intended to deflect from the substance of the Gone Marama Bale’s letter to Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama … implying a foreign meaning, more sinister in nature and calculated to attract negative reaction from knee jerk reactionaries.” And we fully agree with the following friendly advice Daunitutu has for Davis: “Graham is ill-advised in using the ‘race card’ as his trump card because this was never the intention of the Gone Marama Bale, thus inviting ridicule and scorn upon himself after being caught out throwing down a trump card whilst having the same suit in his hand at the time, known in Fiji, as ‘yaraneke.’”

More woes for the regime? |

Folks, we don’t know about you, but we at FDN were intrigued by the posting at the link below, which appeared on Fiji Today’s Blog. Posted by “intelsourcefiji” the item certainly seems to be penned by someone with an insider’s knowledge of the inner workings of the dictatorship and the RFMF. Could that person, perhaps, actually be a member of the regime? For example, there is mention of a “senior member of the Military Council and the Government” who is questioning the motive of AG announcement of Fuel price increase just after the floods and his previous promise of a price review every three (3) months. The posting continues, “The little birds are singing that out of the fuel increase a certain percentage is coming to government coffers to pump in the works after floods.” All very intriguing, don’t you think?
